Venice

We left Santa Barbara at three AM on a Monday morning to catch our flight out of LAX. The day before Aidan had permitted me to yank out "Buck", his left front tooth, and he himself had extracted "Loosey", the right front tooth. The tooth fairy paid him in Euros. Kieran made this sign as we were waiting in the first of many long lines in the airport.

Ahhhh, Venice. What more can I say.

Kieran first climbed on to this lion when she was two. Then again at four. Now at ten. Sweet magic.

This is pretty much what you do on your first day (and second day, and third day) in Europe. It is nine hours ahead. The counter shot to this is; wide eyes, bright and chipper, stomach growling, ready to go at two in the morning.
